The story of Little Nightmares 2
Little Nightmares 2 serves as a prequel to the original game. Your playable character is a boy named ‘Mono’. While Six, the protagonist from Little Nightmares 1, appears as a computer-controlled character. Six is there to help aid you through the horrors of the city and help you uncover the secrets within.
Little Nightmares 2 Gameworld
Little Nightmares 2 takes place in ‘The Pale City’. The Pale City is a dark and gloomy costal city. Tall decrepit buildings overshadow the garbage ridden and seemingly abandoned streets. Within The Pale City there are four notable locations.
- The Wilderness
- The School
- The Hospital
- The Signal Tower
These locations are all playable areas and help to develop the Little Nightmares game. The Tower possibly being the most notable as it emits a creepy signal which Mono and Six must travel towards.
Little Nightmares 2 feels as dark and atmospheric as ever. Doing an excellent job of making the world feel both lived in and void of life. You will never quite know what to expect around every corner.
Little Nightmares 2 Gameplay
Set in a 2.5D world Little Nightmares 2 is packed with intense, action packed horror moments. It does an excellent job of seamlessly transitioning into its puzzle based platforming gameplay and will be sure to have you scratching your head.
Unlike its predecessor you are now given the opportunity to fight smaller enemies. By grabbing a hammer or club, for example, Mono is given the ability to attack them and/or break pieces of the environment. With that being said Mono, joined by Six, must still use stealth in order to evade larger enemies. As well as this the player is also given the ability to shout out to Six and hold her hand. This ensures they stay together and make use of teamwork to solve environmental puzzles and defeat enemies.
There are also a variety of collectible hats and glitching remains. Use hats to customise your playable character and collect glitching remains to unlock an additional scene once all collected.
Little Nightmares 2 Characters
Little Nightmares 2 has a host of new characters within its world. Only a few appear in the original game. The main antagonists are as follows:
A man that lives in The Wilderness. He hunts with a double barrel shotgun and a flashlight.
A woman who teaches at the school. She has great hearing and the ability to extend her neck at will. Allowing her great reach in hunting down intruders.
The doctor is a large, bloated man that crawls along the ceiling. He is a sickening man who is solely responsible for the hellish creatures within The Hospital.
The Thin Man
The Thin Man is the main antagonist in Little Nightmares 2. He is responsible for the transmission and distortion of The Pale City.
Little Nightmares 2 hosts a large amount of enemies and is much more action-packed than its predecessor.
