In the filmmaking world, many people work on innovations and inventions for living. Some come up with cool products, some useful, some not so much, but you know there is always something cooking.
A company I would put in the category of both useful and cool, inventors I stumbled upon recently, IgniteDigi. An Australian-based duo that designs, manufactures and sells premium camera and gimbal accessories that, as they say, save you time on set. They can also protect your back while using gimbals with their new tech.
Ignite Digi was established in 2013 by Cinematographer Tom Waugh and Aeronautical Engineer/Gimbal Operator Chris Fox. They design, manufacture, and assemble all their products in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
Ignite Digi Products
Their products are crafted in a way to work in tandem with your filmmaking gear and gimbal and unlock its full potential, enhancing footage and productivity onset. What promises quality is the fact that they design all their products from a gimbal and camera operator’s perspective. So, each product is field-tested and purpose-built for professional use.
They have crafted loads of useful gear that you can get to improve your professional camera setups. We have listed below some of the most interesting gear you can get:
- Gimbal Accessories for Movi Pro & Ronin 2
- Camera Cages
- Top Plates for Cameras
- Cable Cam Accessories
- Battery Adapters
- Carbon Side Plates
- Battery Expansions
- Accessory Mounts
Highlights we have found interesting
If you follow the new products as they come, you are familiar with the latest in the RED family, the RED Komodo camera. Its compact build and advanced features are what make this a best seller, but to enhance its functionality, Ignite Digi came up with a line of products specifically designed for it. Here is a notable example.
RED Komodo Keystone
This keystone enables the ultimate rigging flexibility for large or small builds. It has 66 threaded mounting holes with two ARRI Rosettes. Produced by CNC milling from a single block of 6061-T6 aluminum, it is exceptionally robust and durable, and its clever design won’t obstruct access to your camera’s components and will create an optimal cable routing for a clutter-free rig.
Here’s an official video presentation of the product.
Accessories for Sony Cinema Line

- Bridge plates
- Quick-release handle

TB50 Hammerhead – Dual Smart Battery Adapter
This adapter works both for cameras and accessories and uses two of DJI’s intelligent TB50 batteries. It has 15V and 20-25V Lemo power outputs, USB-C, and USB-A outputs. Both are simultaneous so that you can charge two different cameras or accessories at once.
With a total of 195Wh, you can power a RED or ALEXA Mini with accessories for 2.5-3 hours. Both batteries are air travel safe at 97.5Wh.
Drone landing gear for the DJI Ronin 2
Furthermore, their gimbal accessories are certainly impressive, like their drone-landing gear for Ronin 2.
This landing gear is designed to be used on drones up to 40kg (85lb). It is lightweight with only 440 grams and durable. In the package, you get everything you need to land your DJI Ronin 2 and camera package safely.
FREEFLY MōVi Pro Package
One of the two premium bundles Ignite Digi currently has is for the MōVI Pro with an ARRI ALEXA Mini/Mini LF, RED DSMC2 Weapon/Epic-W/Scarlet-W, Sony Venice, FX9, FX6, FS7, or FS5 cinema camera. It includes the Digi Power Expansion Pack for MōVI Pro and extra cables.
Although many of the accessories in this package are cross-compatible with the DJI Ronin 2 gimbal, you can also check out their DJI Ronin 2 Package.
From cables for gimbal, camera, and accessories, to packages of products and new products being released frequently, this Australian duo truly amazes with their smart design and devotion to detail.
If you are just entering the filmmaking industry or are already an experienced pro, their products will undoubtedly come in handy for any project you are working on. Make sure to check them out at Ignite Digi.
