Filling the background in can be tricky to figure out to someone new to using Procreate. However, it’s actually very simple and easy to do. I’m going to be showing you how to do this in this quick and easy to follow guide.
Start off with a plain, blank canvas and a new layer. Go to the top right side of the Procreate software and tap on the coloured circle.
A colour chart will appear and you just need to select the colour you want your background to be. Next, all you need to do is drag the colour to the canvas by holding down on the coloured circle that you used to open the colour chart and drag your colour from there, to the blank canvas.
Lift your finger and it should colour the canvas with your chosen colour.
How to fill the Background in Procreate
1. Start off with your blank canvas and a new layer
This is fairly self-explanatory, all you need to do is start a new project in Procreate and create a new layer. It’s as simple as that.
2. Bring up the Colour Chart
Tap the coloured circle in the top right of the Procreate software, this will bring up a colour chart. Now all you need to do is select the colour you want your background to be.
3. Drag your Chosen Colour on to the Canvas
Tap off of the colour chart so it disappears. Then all you need to do next is drag your colour from the icon in the top left that you used to open the colour chart originally, over to your canvas.
As soon as you’ve dragged your colour over the canvas, lift your pen up and the layer will fill with your chosen colour.
