Connect to WiFi During Setup
Connecting to WiFi while setting up your Google Home device is the first and simple step.
After turning the device on, follow the prompts to set it up. During this process, you will be asked to choose a WiFi network to connect the device.
Select your home WiFi network and enter your password. If the password is correct and the network is online, the device will automatically connect to the network.

Change Your Google Home’s Network Connection
If you have already set up your Google Home device and need to change the WiFi network it’s connected to, you can change the network by instructing it to forget the current WiFi network or factory reset the device.

- Open the Google Home app on your phone.
- Locate the Google Home device you want to change the WiFi network for.
- Touch and hold the device’s name in the app.
- In the top right corner, there will be a WiFi setting option. There will also be an option that says “forget.”
- Tap on “forget” to have the Google Home disconnect from the WiFi network it is currently connected to.
- You can set up the device again and connect it to the new and preferred WiFi network.
